How to JOIN quilting block swaps Australia

Hello and thank you for visiting. This is a community group for all Australian quilters to join or just follow. Membership is FREE and you are partnered each month and we make each other a 12 inch quilt block based on our preferences which we swap. (12.5 inches raw edge to raw edge) The emphasis of the group is on friendship and sharing. To find out more or register to join email me on quiltingblocks@hotmail.com This purpose of this blog is to chat and showcase blocks and quilts made by members, kind of like a show and tell . Yours in stitching, Sue

March swap allocated.

Hi Ladies

By now you should have received your March email with your new partners details, and also an explanation of the red flag and suspension protocol.( enough of the nasties).

A BIG welcome to new members swapping this month.
Linda from Arizona in the USA
Lee from New South Wales
 and
Donna from New South Wales

We currently have 41 active Australians and 14 international members swapping with us and are at capacity with our group being capped at 50, we are overflowing at 55.

Noelene has been a member for about 2 1/2 years and for the best part of that she was collecting log cabins and WOW, look at what she has made with them ( with some added made by herself).

It is so lovely to see such a fabulous quilt created with blocks collected as a member of our little swap group.

Well done Noelene and everyone that made her a block.

Dec and Feb blocks

These are the two blocks I received from Karen for Dec ... isn't that bear so cute? They will be great in the Blankets of Love.

This is the lovely block from Carolyn for Feb. I am so impressed by the beautiful card that accompanied my block. I think Carolyn painted it herself... what a clever person. Thank you both for swapping with me.

Challenges

When we got our February swap partners, I was paired up with Brenda T.
I looked and said a lil-prayer as I needed to look up the directions for the block I needed to make as I've never made it? (always thought it was ..too difficult)
I then received a email from my swap partner that the block I'd requested she had never made...
Oh I thought, a challenge month for us both! Smile
So....
Off I started....
This was a very nice block to put together
and I made one
then saw some pictures of this block made with four colors and tried that.
I thought my first was not just as exact as the first..? Ever thought that?
So, I made another and really liked it and I am so thrilled as now I know that this block is really beautiful when made and really not as difficult as I'd once thought!
I sure do hope they fit in with Brenda's collection
And thank you Sue for pairing us up. As now, we both after years of quilting know a 'new' block!

 First block with two colors....
The one on the right is the second block...
along with a lil-Valentine's treat!
Blessings~

Happy stitching,
